Default Garmin 1040xs running slow

I have a 1040xs that has started to run very slow, It takes a long time (15-20 sec) to paint the screen. This happens even when the radar is not spinning. I have the most up to date software V6.5. Is this just the way this unit performs or is something wrong?

Equipment: 24xHD radar and a GV-10 module with two transducers plugged into it. The transducers are an Airman P19? and a Garmin GT3-TM.

Did you do the update with the radar and gcv 10 plugged in? I made that mistake with another Garmin unit and had similar results.

Yes, the Garmin update package actually covers many devices. At least that's my understanding.

When you say it "started to run slow" does that mean it was running faster before?

If so, did you change or add anything other than the software up-date? Did you add a premium mapping card for example?

If you are recording QuickDraw information, it slows the 1040 down significantly. Using the built in sonar (whether displayed or not) also slows it a little ... but not nearly as bad as QuickDraw.

Default 1040xs running slow

The 1040xs is slow repainting the screen with two transducers running and with the Radar and Quickdraw both turned off. By slow, I mean the Nav map takes multiple minutes to repaint the screen.

I started noticing the slowness when I started playing around with Quickdraw. But it's slow even with Quickdraw turned off. I researched it and thought it may be the SD card, so I got a high-speed one. It made no difference.

I'm considering a device reset, but thought I'd check with this forum for input.
