Default House Battery Reccomendations

I'm at the final stages of upgrading some electrical in my boat. The final piece of the puzzle is a house battery.

  1. Boat (2000 Regal 1800 LSR - 4.3L Carbureted Mercruiser I/O Sterndrive) is 99% Freshwater use; never been out for more than 12 hours at a time.
  2. My new Starting battery is an Optima 8006-006.
  3. The batteries will be hooked up to a Yandina C100 Combiner for alternator charging (65A Alternator).
  4. A Powermania M212v2 on-board charger will be used for shore charging.
  5. The house battery will be used to power a Wet Sounds HT-4 amp, JVC KD-HDR60 Head Unit, and a Garmin echoMap 53DV Fishfinder/GPS.
  6. I would like a House Battery that can power the electronics for ~6 hours while the boat is anchored with the stereo at moderate (1/3 - 1/2) volume; so I'm thinking I need around 80Ah?
Looking for suggestions on "best choice" Group 24 AGM batteries that will fit my needs within a $250.00 MAX budget.

I've been looking at the VMAXtanks MR107-85 and XS Power XP2000 recently; so any comparisons, reviews, or opinions on these are welcome as well.

you're going to get lots of opinions. I've tried a lot of batteries, with several colors of tops, over the years.

For me, the best bang for the buck is the great Duracell AGM marine batteries at Sams Club. They are re-branded DEKA Intimidators... well under $200 as I recall.

Unless something comparable is on blowout sale price someplace, the Duracell is probably the best you can get valuewise.
