Default Fusion Link

Is there a list of compatible devices with this capability? Those that have it, do you like it? Trying to decide if this is worth the time and expense of swapping out.

Here is the link that will show you the units that are compatible. If you scroll down you will be able to select the brand you are looking at.

Thanks Mike, I was probably not clear.. Other than the Fusion unit, what other head units will be compatible. I have a Garmin 7612xsv and am interested in getting something that i can control through the MFD. It seems like there are too many questionable reviews of the fusion stuff. Of those that have this, do they like it or is it more work than its worth.

I was just on the Garmin software site looking to see if there was a latest software version for my 7610xsv and noticed that 9.00, released on Oct 20, adds NMEA2000 support for compatible Polk Audio, Rockford Fosgate, and JL audio.

no I think it's silly. just put one of the remotes at each helm. then volume and controls are right there when you want it. instead of going through chart plotter menus. plus if you are docked / anchored the plotter won't be on. but the remote will be.

I use Fusion link between my Garmin 7612xsv, 8212 to my Fusion MS-UD750, it works flawlessly, but seldom use it as the MS-UD750 is mounted close in the console and easy to control.

Take a look at JL and Rockford Fosgate for their new NMEA2000 head units.

I use the Fusion-Link iOS app to control my UD-750 - almost exclusively.

My original plan was to install 2-3 remotes, but forum feedback told me that I'd be addicted to the app, and they were correct.

I use the Garmin Helm app to control the Fusion from my phone or iPad wirelessly. it works great and has amazing range.

I saw at Ibex that the JL media master was working on a Garmin and Simrad unit so that will be out soon also.

I hear the JL unit has better sound quality than the Fusion, but I have been happy with the Fusion sound and function.

I don't use the Fusion app at all, Bluetooth is a shit protocol unless you are 3 ft away.

I wish I could argue that, but I struggle with BT range too. Fortunately, the app allows a choice of BT and WiFi connections.

Sorry, Fusion Link just works with Fusion products only.

You will see other audio head unit manufacturers start to allow for control as NMEA worked up a set of standard N2K Entertainment PGN's.

You will see Wet Sounds and others slowly start to get into this arena with more generic pages on the MFDs. There are many now starting to pop up.

FWIW, I have no regrets about my UD-750. Four speaker zones have made a huge difference. BT, WiFi, NMEA2k and MFD integration are also key.

My biggest complaint is the price point of this gear - typical "boating math" applies.
