Default RS-130 GPS antenna direct to a E-120 classic

Can I cut and splice the RS-130 antenna whip directly to a seatalk connector whip, to plug directly into a E-120 classic. Has anyone does this? What are the color codes / pin-outs.

You cannot direct connect. The old antennas used SeaTalk1, the RS130 uses SeaTalk ng. You need a T70134 Seatalk ng starter kit, then a A06061 E-Series adapter cable to the SeaTalk2 port on the E120.

You could try opening your old antenna and soldering in a new battery, that is often the reason why those older antennas fail.

The E classic is a nmea2000 device with seatalk2 connection. So, the seatalk converter is really not an ideal setup.

seatalk2 to seatalk-ng cable--- A06061
(this will be a white cable that goes from E to 5-way input)

Raymarine SeaTalkng Starter Kit MSRP $99

A06064: SeaTalkng 5-way Connector
A06031: SeaTalkng Backbone Terminator (x2)
A06040: SeaTalkng Spur Cable 3M
A06049: SeaTalkng Power Cable

seatalk2 to seatalk-ng cable--- A06048
(this will be a white cable that goes from E to 5-way input)
CME is right about the converter kit. I wouldn't use it.

A06048 is the wrong cable though. The E classic used a round seatalk2 connection. He needs the A06061 and the ng starter kit.
