Default Standard Horizon New Products

Standard Horizon has a few new products that will be released very soon. I personally have had the opportunity to put hands on with these. Here is an overview:

The key here is that they are the exact same footprint of the ICOM 504 / 506. So if you have one of those this will slide right in without cutting.

Model GX-6000
NMEA 2000 - AWESOME!!!!!
AIS Receive
25K Dual Zone Hailer
Scrambler
Wired Mic Standard
Wireless Mic is an optional upgrade - The quality of the Mic is outstanding. (MSRP $149.00)
Ability to connect 4 wireless Mics
GX6000 $499.99

Model GX6500
NMEA 2000 - AWESOME!!!!!
AIS Class B - NICE !
25K Dual Zone Hailer
Scrambler
Wired Mic Standard
Wireless Mic is an optional upgrade - The quality of the Mic is outstanding. (MSRP $149.00)
Ability to connect 4 wireless Mics
GX6500 $799.99

We have done many many Standard Horizon units. They have not let us down as far as performance and after the sale support. so with hat said these are our number 1 go to VHF radios.

Take a peek at these as they will be available very soon.

Are you sure those prices are correct?

As much as I'd like AIS Class B, I think the prices are switched....

I just swapped the MSRP prices. Sorry about the mix up. They are correct now.

Take a look at these units when you have a few second. They are loaded with features and priced perfectly.

Built in GPS?

For $300.00 [rebate] I just purchased the GX2200 [from you] works great built in GPS/AIS. Used 0183 connection to Garmin for AIS.

Smart of SH to come out with a NMEA 2000 unit.

No prob...Since I discovered the error, I'll take one at the original price

So will this unit push AIS data to Ray Marine C140W?

I will keep you posted when they are available. Another great release by Standard Horizon. They guys are also really good as far as support. While we do quite a bit of internet business this is secondary to our on site installations. Standard Horizon is our go to for 95 percent of our installs.

I hate my Lowrance Link8, I am so much happier with the SH radio that I have. Will ithe SH also have NMEA0183, if so I would replace all the radios on the boat. I have one on N2k (Link8) and one on 0183 (SHgx1150) with a separate GPS source for redundancy.

The Link8 will get moved outside to the rear helm

Will the GX6000/GX6500 have a GPS receiver? I am in the market for a new VHF and would seriously consider this Standard Horizon offering if it has a GPS receiver. The street price of a ICOM M506 with NMEA 2000, AIS and GPS is $520. I think SH will miss the boat if this does include a GPS receiver.

Nice addition .... I wonder if the wireless mic will work if the main unit is installed inside the helm enclosure?

Here's a comparison video I did in 2004 of the ICOM 504 to the 506. You can see the differences if the display and buttons of the iCOM 506 to the new SH's. I wonder what the licensing requirements of the class B units if any.
