Default How many transducers can you have?

I want to add a TM150M transducer for the trolling motor. I’m being told that I will need a NEP-2 Network Expansion Port. Is this correct?

My system:
2 Simrad NSS 12 Evo
4G Radar
GoFree Wi-Fi Module
WM-3 SiriusXM Satellite Weather & Radio Module
3D Structure Scan (#1 Transducer)
B175H-W Transducer (#2 Transducer)

You don't need a NEP-2 for TM150M, this transducer plugs into the NSS Evo2 with a free blue transducer connector.

But you should add a NEP-2 anyway. Using both network ports at WiFi-1 can cause communications issues.

Thank you Abbor. I will add the NEP-2. This is a new boat and not wanting any issues. Any other items you would recommend? or change?

I looked at your list once more and now I noticed StructureScan 3D is included. StructureScan 3D is not only a transducer but also a box, this box has three Ethernet ports so no need for NEP-2.

You need a heading sensor, I would have added an autopilot which includes a heading sensor. GS25 is entry level heading sensor, the best is Precision-9.

Mine Structure scan didn't come with a box. Mine plugs right into my NSS12 Evo2. I wonder if I'm missing something.

Ordinary StructureScan plugs directly into newer units, StructureScan 3D require an external black-box.

Abbor - do you recommend Precision 9 in preference to HS60 or even HS70?

Abbor - I will be in lakes 90% of time and only in the FL Keys may 2 or 3 times a year fishing so Autopilot would not be needed. As for the heading sensor would the Precision 9 be worth the difference in $$$ or would the GS25 be fine for my use? Not really sure of the purpose of the heading sensor if I do not have Autopilot. Thank you for the info!

If HS70 is an option this is the way to go since this will give the best performance. For my 21' HS70 is too huge so I went HS60. The longer antenna baseline (center distance between the GPS antennas) will give improved accuracy. I got one of the first HS60 units so now it's back to the Norwegian Navico distributor for software update and configuration of GPS and heading dampening.

Precision-9 will after the next software update support heave compensation but I don't know if it will work as well as the GPS compasses.

GS25 will do a decent job as heading sensor.

I think Abbor is suggesting a heading sensor because it allows you to use chart overlay function on your radar. Some might say that the chart overlay function "doubles" the use of a MFD for both radar and plotter functions simultaneously.

As always, I would defer to Abbor as he is the best source of information on this site.

GS25 is the Simrad version of Pont-1, they are identical. I recommend a heading compass for radar overlay and to stabilize the chart display at low speeds.

See why I defer to Abbor?
I was thinking of the RC42N rate compass.

My apologies.

GS25 it will be. Thank you both Abbor and Point Consults. Now after I get the boat (should be Sept or Oct) and get to start learning how to use all the Electronics I'm sure I will be asking a lot of questions. Abbor looks to be the go to guy to ask. Great to have a place and someone who will take the time and explain question people ask.
