Default Yamaha hours

I have a 2005 Yamaha f115. It does not have an hour meter. I do have the Yamaha fuel management gauges but don't see it on there. Is there a way to find hours? I have heard it's too old for the dealer to be able to tell?

My 2005 F150 information can be downloaded. I don't see how the F115 would be different.

All the dealer has to do is connect his laptop with the Yamaha Diagnostic software to get the hours and any trouble codes that may be recorded in the onboard computer.

Okay thanks fellas ideas. I read a post where people said they couldn't. I will schedule an appointment then. Any known issues on the f115? As far as I know they don't get the exhaust rot the 225's have

Both have serial interface to laptop and service diagnostics.
.
Top image is part circuit diagram F115A and the bottom the F150A showing location of connectors.
The plug A for the 115 and plug C for the 150.

You may have read about an F115 not being able to provide engine hours (any engine data actually) to an MFD via NMEA 2000. Early F115's did not have that capability. Later models do.

The early F115's did not have a knock sensor. Make sure the gasoline is clean and fresh. Also, the motor needs to be propped so that it can turn at or near 6000 RPM when the boat is loaded and the throttle is wide open.

Why do you feel the need to know how many hours are on the motor? And by the way, if the ECU has been changed the hours shown via the Yamaha diagnostic system won't reflect the actual run time on the motor itself.
