Default New transducer for 797c2 or Helix 5si

Hi All,
New member here. I grew up around boats but have been away for a looong time. I purchased a Triton 195cc a couple of weeks ago which came with a 797c2 mounted in the console. I have a through hull transducer which works well but the one with all the side imaging goodies on the transom is missing.
Is this unit worth installing a new $150 Transducer or would I just be better off getting one of the newer entry level units like the Helix 5 si? The budget is pretty tight and I have no frame of reference for how good a 797 is.

I doubt I will see much water deeper than 70'

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Welcome to the forum.

And the 797c2 is a good unit..for 70'..just get a new ducer.

Use for a season and then decide if you need to upgrade.

That sounds like $350 worth of good advice. Thank you.,
