Default B260 deep reading issues

Have a B260 that read fine down deep last year on my Furuno... Swapped out to an Evo 2 and BSM1 this past winter and now that we're fishing out in 1,000' + I've noticed that it looses bottom and won't read even at troll speed. Wondering if it's transducer or BSM1... Really thinking of moving over to chirp the winter but for now I have to rely on baths charts for depth guesstimates. Really going to have issues trying to swordfish this summer.

Inside 200 it reads perfectly... Very weird.

Is it internally diplexed or did you use a external diplexer?

Externally diplexed... damn sorry I forgot I that. I also have an SS270W that I run directly to the Evo2 for inshore fishing that is diplexed too. the 270 dies out at about 400-500 but has the only working temp sensor so I generally use it since temp is more important to me than bottom when Marlin fishing. However, this weekend I was out in the middle of the gulfstream in hot water and wanted to see exactly how deep I was, it was then I realized the 260 wouldn't read. Once I came back in shallow it read fine all the way in even at cruise. Sitting at the dock all works fine so I had no idea.

We haul out in the fall but swapping out transducers wasn't in the work plans... sure hope this is a simple issue.

If your are running the SS270 and B260 at the same time the frequencies are interfering with each other which may be causing your problem.

interesting thought... so I'm using the source select on the Evo2 to choose "BSM-1" or "This Device" being the Evo2. Would the non-selected transducer still be firing even when its not selected? If that's the case how would you toggle...

What kinda specs does the bsm 1 have? I almost wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't just suck being it was their first go at chirp. Can you connect the b260 directly to the evo2? Are they updated?

For traditional non CHIRP 1 kw sonar...
The B260 and the Furuno circuit was the benchmark for many years of those deep dropping....a very good sonar combination.
From my own personal use...the Garmin,Simrad and others just are not the equal in traditional non CHIRP sonar to the Furuno 1 kw circuit for most deep dropping situations..

yeah I can swap them out, since they are both diplexed both ducers terminate with the blue Lowrance plugs. Just hate to have my helm apart 90 miles out. I expected some performance decrease since I was coming from a Furuno 1200 but I would have thought the 260 and BSM1 would at least read depth down to 2000.

So whats the hot Simrad replacement setup for 200' bottom/top 200' trolling and 1500' bottom in CHIRP? If no bottom at 1500' is my new reality I made a big mistake taking that Furuno out and need to replan my next haul out to replace the ducers

I don't see the specs for the Simrad bsm1 but the depth capabilty only shows 3000 feet compared to bsm2 and 3 which show 10,000ft so I'd assume there are some power differences.
