Default Garmin 7616 & All in one transducer

Garmin rep came to my fishing club meeting last week to do a presentation on their products, I had been looking at the 7616 for my Contender 23T. The all in one transom mount transducer looks interesting but not sure if the quality will be nearly as dos as a thru hull. Garmin rep said it will be more than adequate

Each has its own merits and downsides......and both can give very postive results if properly mounted.

The transom "All in one" is easier to mount and less $...but can lose capability as speed increase on some
hulls.

The thru hull "All in one" may require one or two separate transducers (Depending on deadrise) ..so more $.
And since the transducers are fairing's..trailering could be an issue.
And generally a thru hull by running in cleaner water can get good results as speed increases.

We have it on one of our boats and must say that it is impressive and will fill many voids. I myself, if any sort of trolling or drifting is done would also be running a B175HW along with the GT 50 or 51. The transom mount on smaller and or trailered boats or the thruhull for boats that stay in the water or a well planed install for trailered boats
