Default 2016 Simrad software updates

Anyone done any recent updates to their Simrad stuff (NSS or NSE units, sonar hub, BSM 2 or 3)
Last year, Simrad tech support kept telling me for months software updates were in the works for some issues I was having, most specific no temp reading when using my BSM2 as my sounder source.
Did the updates when they finally were published but never fixed the temp issue.
Anyone ???

3.6 cam out a couple months back. I don't know if it solved your particular issue as I didn't have it, however I haven't seen anyone report anything negative about the most recent update.

BSM-2 & 3 v3.8 was released in January I think. Major improvements both in sounder performance and stability.

I have a large Simrad system NSS12, NSS12 Evo2, 4G radar, SonarHub, BSM-2, StructureScan 3D, RS35, HS35, AP24, AC12, OP10, IS40, AIS transponder and also a Lowrance HDS Gen3.

I'm running the latest software for everything. I was fishing for more than 100 hours during a weeks trip two weeks ago. I had no issues at all with the electronics. I'm very happy with the performance of the system.

Temperature issues were fixed some time ago. BSM2 needs v3.8.

I installed the most recent update on my nss16 but have not updated on my nss12 evo2 and both my machines read 58 deg no matter what. I will update my 12 and see if it fixes the problem. I don't have the bsm2.

Abbor, Do you still have a SonarHub running swv1.17? If so, is that providing correct temperature?

Mine does not - but everything else I have which is running updated software Evo2, BSM3 does display correct temperature.

I downloaded the v3.8 update from the Simrad website to a micro Sim card and tried to uploaded it to my system but it won't load and not sure why.
My screen are nss 12s evo1, not 2.
Have a bsm2 for the chirp sounder & sonar hub runs the side/structure scan.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I'll be back on the phone with Simrad tech support again this week.

Did you unzip/decompress the files?

Are you sure you downloaded the BSM-2 version of the update and not the BSM-3 version?

Not sure but I thought I read it as 1 update for both.
Either way for evo1 screens shouldn't the update pop up automatically when micro Sim card is installed and unit powered on ?
Instructions say go to pages, then files then a few other prompts from there which I don't have from the files page.

Yes, you have to go to the file menu and select the update and then follow the instructions on screen.

If you don't find the upgrade file it could be that you are using an incompatible micro-SD card. Max size 32GB and FAT32 formatting.

Uncompressed file must be in the root of the card

For updating another unit in the network the file can be located anywhere.

Abbor from experience with three generations of Simrad gear: GlassBridge, NSO, NSO Evo 2 I humbly disagree. Some of the black boxes will update from a directory, however any that require a reboot need to have the file in the root to correctly update. The latest 4.6 NSO EVO2 upgrade and 3.8 BSM upgrade require the files be in the root directory I keep a second SD card in the NSO processor and copy the file to be updated to the root of that card in the files menu. Easy to do and the updates happy easily every time.

With NSS and NSS Evo2 the file can be located in a directory.
