Default Garmin G2 Vision HD Cards.........

I had a Garmin echoMap 74SV installed last Friday and would like to purchase the BlueChart Vision HD card for Florida. Is there a market for these outside of Garmin? I've searched Amazon and Ebay but the ads seem misleading at best. I'm not looking for a black market knockoff but surely there's somewhere to buy these Florida cards for less than $400+ each. Anyone using the HD cards that can verify a huge difference from the regular G2 Vision?
Any input would great.

Thanks.

We have the HD cards for way less than the $400.00 with free shipping on all web orders.

Have you found more than one or two people so far who find the imagery or map on that card remarkable? I have but unfortunately its all in a bad way. Save your money or you will be one of the unhappy folks trying to sell yours to another unsuspecting garmin hopeful.

There is currenlty a $200 rebate from Garmin on the G2 Vision and MFD.

Purchase a Garmin BlueChart g2 Vision HD card and a qualifying Garmin echoMAP™, echoMAP CHIRP or GPSMAP® chartplotter from April 7, 2016, through July 10, 2016, and receive $200 USD via mail-in rebate.

Limit two rebate submissions per customer. The product must be purchased in factory-new condition. All submissions must be postmarked by Aug. 30, 2016.

Thanks for the info. Very helpful.

From what I'm understanding the upgrade may not be such a good choice for the money spent. I appreciate the replys.

I happen to like the G2 vision cards, I purchased one my self for my SeaCraft and use it in the Keys day in and day out. Not trying to sell anyone on anything, just like the charts versus the stock ones.

You can only know what you know. Once you run a great map with excellent photos and a high degree of vector accuracy then you finally know just how horrible the one you thought you liked really was.

Maybe so. I just liked it better than the stock chart. I enjoy the features. And as Gill mentioned it is 50.00 after rebate.

Just my input... I have the same unit with Vision card. BIGGGG waste of money.. Sat imaging sucks, auto guidance inaccurate, fish eye 3D useless, etc.. Although I do like the mariners eye 3D and the aerial photos.

The fishing / Bathymetric is handy, sat imaging is OK / somewhat useful. For $50 and a gamble they make it better for my chart upgrade in a year, worth it.

I use the vision cards and I really like the photos of approaches, harbors and marinas.

Makes it worth the premium price.

Auto-guidance could use some tweaking for sure, but in general, I like, and use, that feature too.

i think the only way you would see a difference on the HD cards ,are installing them on the HD units like the 7612xsv or similar
on a 74sv i would stick with the regular g2 vision

Default Cards difference?

Ok I just purchased a 7610xsv from gill. I'm waiting for it to come in now. I was wondering if one of these cards would help my unit on finding new fishing spots, and how? What's the difference from what's already loaded on there now? I don't care about auto guidance, etc. all I care about is the detail going to be better? I live in the Biloxi ms area and fish the gulf, and would like more detail on the reefs and wrecks that are on my map.

I don't think there is even a non-HD card any longer... I might be way wrong.

All I do know is that Garmin support is 2nd to none... I was unable to upgrade my vision card. Hotline diagnosed it saying it was missing a file necessary for upgrading the card. Their offer was send mine to them and they would RMA it.. yeah REPLACE it.

I just got my new card in the mail and sure enough... HD vision card. My original was not.

I'm assuming that is because that's all they offer now??

I bought it off Amazon, of which, I will never do again.... Why cheap out on charts??

Garmin service is excellent.

Maybe someone here can answer this, if you update your maps that are supplied on the MFD, are they now the HD version?
