Default simple chart plotter/sonar

hi, I have a garmin echomap 50s. I use this on a 20' open skiff, that takes a bit of spray.
the machine works pretty flawlessly, but the tracking part seems to take a lot of different steps to stop the track or start the track. I'm looking for a a combo machine that plots a track with a push of a button or maybe two pushes. It doesn't have to have different colors.. It would be great if it was a one button to put in a mark and than go back later if you want to name it. As far as the fishfinder, it needs to go to 600'+. not necasarily to see fish, but to read depth. If it was a garmin I guess that would be a plus so I could use my current card with my numbers. Is there anything out there that fits that bill? thanks in advance

Default chart plotter

I bought the garmin echomap50s last year. I thought it was new. I haven't seen any that perform this task so simply. I'm looking for a chartplotter that I push one button and a new track starts up on the screen. push the button again and the track stops. 15 minutes later hit the button again and a new track starts etc. most of the ones I see requires you to hit the menu button, than the tracks and waypoints button, choose track choos e active track pick a color etc etc. I admit I'm not the most technically informed guy but I would have thought there would be something simpler.

I'm afraid that's the way most units are going these days regardless of brand - it would be nice if they would add actual function keys (actual buttons) that were programmable where you could customize that function. I feel the same was as you about tracks.
