Default structurescanHD lss1 question

Hello all,
My HD9 touch screen just stopped working and they gave me a good upgrade path to hds12 gen3. Happy about trade up but questioning what to do next about transducers/structurescan. I have an HD8gen2 in the boat as well connected to the old lss1 module and skimmer. My question is should i buy the adapter cable to connect directly to the HDS12gen3 unit? would i get better imaging with the built in structurescanhd module or just leave it in the old module and networked.
I dont want to spend the $ at this pont to get an lss2 or the 3D. Maybe at some later point.

At this point i have the Lowrance auto pilot with Point1 and an hst-dfsbl that i was thinking about buying TM150.

I have 1 old Furuno navnet 1720cNT for the 2002 4k radar. Couldnt bring myself to pull it out and spend the cash to put in a new 4g yet.

Any advice is helpful.

Keep LSS-1 connected to the old StructureScan box. I assume you have the first generation box coming with LSS-1 and not StructureScan HD (which came bundled with LSS-2).

I'm still using the StructureScan box I installed in 2010 and LSS-1, even if I have SonarHub, NSS Evo2 and HDS Gen3 installed. I even have the impedance matching adapter stoved away somewhere. LSS-1 will work best with the original box and it's always nice to have an extra network hub.
