Default New electronics question

Finally pulled the trigger on the new set up. Lowrance HDS9 Gen 3 with 3d structure scan. Went with the B75h chirp transducer. I found out that the Chirp ducers don't come with connecting end attached. My question is the best way to connect the pigtail? Should I solder and shrink tube the connection or would regular heat shrink butt connectors work? I saw there is a connecting device that airmar makes is that necessary?

Thanks for the help

Solder and heat shrink then seal the entire connection with an overall piece of large heat shrink. Another tip is to stagger the lengths of the wires to that the connections are made at different spots so even if it somehow wears through the heat shrink insulation it would still have to wear through the insulation on the other conductors to cause a problem.

Good luck!

Most of the electrical solder has flux in the solder. No need to flux.

p
The B75H is available with the Blue Navico connector.

The B150M , B75H, B75M, B175H, B175M , B175HW and B275-LHW all are available with the blue NAVICO plugs.

You would be well off to return your B75 and purchase one with the connector.

I haven't got it yet. It will be at the company I bought from next Tuesday. I ordered already with the pigtail. Is there a different # for the one with the connector on it? It also might be easier for me to snake the wire without the plug on it.
