Default Transducer installation - location

Hi Guys, first post but long time reader of this invaluable resource.

I have just bought (among other goodies) a B175M and B175HW 20degree tilted transducers and a Structure Scan 3D TM transducer.

I am in Western Australia and have a locally built 28ft centre console with twin outboards.

I have identified 2 x relatively clear channels to install the B175's each with its strengths weaknesses on opposite sides of the hull (ie symmetrical), I was hoping to obtain some advice on the best compromise.

1. is 1/2 of the way toward the edge of the hull (~675mm from centre and 675mm from edge), 1m in front of transom, between 2x lifting strakes and out of the prop line.

2. is 80mm from the centreline, 120mm from the transom, partially in line with the prop lines. It would mean 2 x 175's would be within 160mm and within 200mm from where I was planning on mounting the TM Structure Scan transducer. So in summary close to the centreline at the transom (fuel tank any further forward) and they would all be quite a squeeze in the bilge.

Main queries:
Primarily, which would you go for, wide of centre although relatively clear of disturbance, or close to centre and potential to affect props/the other transducers?

Secondary:
Is option 1. too far from centre and going to significantly affect performance once planing? I was hoping to get a reasonable reading at 25knots...

How significant is the risk of option 2. cavitating the props as the transducers will be partially in line with the props? Boat has a top speed of ~45knots although rarely used, 25-30knots typical cruise.

Option 1 places the transducers close to the transom I have read somewhere that locating transducers within 1m of the transom is not a good idea, how much truth is there to this?

Is having all 3x transducers so close in option 1 going to be an issue in itself (ie they get confused from each others signals?)

How much clearance does the Structure Scan 3D require from the motors? I was hoping to install it between the motors. I wasn't too keen on a through hull SS3D transducer due to the long skinny cutouts required - but if it becomes necessary I might just have to man up..

One of the lifting strakes stop half way along the hull. Is there any possibility of mounting say 2-3m behind this or would it likely still run bubbles along the hull?

I would be greatly appreciative of any informed guidance you guys may be able to lend and thank you in advance.

I will now try to upload a couple of photos..

Cheers,

Sam
