Default Transducer running without water?

Is is bad for my Garmin GT-50 transducer to be running without being in the water?

Sometimes my Garmin 7612 will power up on it's own (I know there's a menu change for that) and my transducer will be on.

Any problems with running it dry?

a snippet from the head engineer who designed all of the new garmin transducers

The entire sounder system is Garmin’s design. The potential overheating issue with other’s CHIRP transducers is NOT an issue with Garmin’s CHIRP transducers
i still use the power button to stop all sonar when i pull my trolling motor though
