Default What (if anything) will this NEMA 2000 system share?

Twin E120 Raymarine
One E80 Raymarine
AutoPilot, Sonar M260, Radar... (All RayMarine)...

All connected via Teleflex MagicBus system.

If I introduce a Garmin 6212 to the mix (eliminate a E120) ... will anything be shared with the Garmin? Depth?

Thanks,
Pete

Sorry to say but AFAIK a new Garmin 6212 will not be able to utilize any of the Raymarine stuff... With the exception of some data from the DSM (like depth)... Even a new Raymarine MFD won't be able to utilize the old (analog) radar as it requires a digital radar...

I don't know the specifics of the Magic Bus system, but it seems to use standard NMEA 2000 messages, and maybe some additional proprietary messages, too.

If that's correct, then the 6212 should pick up all the normal NMEA 2000 messages that it can read: depth, water temperature, GPS position, SOG, COG, heading, and possibly navigation data like XTE, VMG, etc.

Of course, it can't share detailed data like charts, radar, or sonar data (beyond depth & water temp).

I have a C90W and a 7212 on my NMEA 2000 network, and the 7212 reads depth & water temp from the C90W. I haven't tried to read RM waypoint data on the 7212, but I expect that it would work.

Yeah, it seems MagicBus is just another (Teleflex's) name for NMEA2000. It's very standard, and anyone on the bus can pick up the data, provided they understand the particular packet to be received. I could be wrong, but I believe Raymarine shares more complicated data (charts, etc) via ethernet, so that won't be available to the Garmin over NMEA, anyway. I suspect you'll get a gob of data, but not radar screens or maps, though you may get waypoint information from radar & vice versa.
