Default Cut out for CD player too big

Recently bought a fusion MS-IP700i to replace my cd player, the cut out for the old cd player is a little too big for the fusion. Has anyone ran into this problem and what have you done to make it not look like crap? Any suggestions or pictures would be helpful

I have done this (a few times lol). Cut a piece of Starboard a little bigger then the hole. Cut out the proper hole for the stereo and mount to starboard. Then insert and cover the hole. Kinda like a plate. Will look good.

You can even use a piece of black acrylic to look sharp.

The starboard was my first thought but wondering if there are other options that will look a little better, i might try and find a piece of black acrylic that might look a little better.... thanks

We can cut you an adaptor out of acrylic using our in house laser. It will look really nice and we can cover any size cut out. Looking about 20.00.

Can you send a picture of a previous one you have done? Another Concern is the acrylic supporting the weight of the stereo mounted an angle, not sure how thick it is

Not to jump on the thread but I'm curious how much the acrylic runs? I'm looking to mount a panel in my e box which will have a 3210 and a VHF in. Can you screw through it like starboard?

If we use 1/4 inch it will hold it no problem.

For yours we do all the cut out for you. This would be for any and all electronics and the mounting screws. I would need measurements and or a picture to price it out for you. Less than 200 for that.

Will do. I'll send you a pm tomorrow on measurements. How much overlay should be used over the hole? .5"? 1"?

Overall measurement 9.5x4.25
Inside cut out 7 3/16" x 2 3/16". I'm allowing an extra 1/16" for the stereo to be able to slide into the adapter. If you think I need more or less let me know. You can send invoice to rodhunn@hotmail.com

Are there any mounting holes for the inside cut out?
