Default WR10 Remote - Work good?

Installed a lowrance outboard pilot this summer, it works great. As others have said, the interface on non-touch HDS units is a little clunky. Was looking at the WR10 remote, searched the site for reviews and did not see any. Anyone have one, if so how about a review?

Small nice unit which works as expected. Dedicated buttons for Auto and Standby, a short push on one of the turn buttons is 1 degree and a long push is 10 degrees. No access to steering patterns or other advanced functions. The communication seems to be robust, I've tested the communication over more than 100' in harbor.

I have a short review of WR10 at my Norwegian site, here is a link to the Google transaltion:

https://translate.google.no/translat...-text=&act=url

The funny thing with the translated page is that the small intro I have in English where I tell I'm abbor at THT is also of course translated so now abbor is perch

I love mine. So nice. It works great. Allows you to just sit back in the helm chair and steer the boat. Great addition to my electronics.

Thanks, I think I will add it to my Christmas list. Was slow trolling yesterday and found myself wishing I could do course corrections from the cockpit, I think this will work nicely...

The autopilot really has spoiled me quickly!

Hi Guys - Will the WR10 remote work through the NMEA2000 connected Fusion BlackBox's WiFi?

AC12 and AP24 installed, upgrading to the Precision 9 from the RC42.
Also running dual Garmin 1040's, wonder if they utilize "heave" data in their sonar.

I believe the WR10 communicates via Bluetooth. It comes with a dedicated BT receiver that connects to your NMEA200 network

Hi woodygo thanks for your reply. So the FUSION blackbox stereo I have installed has WiFi, I use it to connect my iPhone to play music. The FUSION is also connected to the NMEA2000.
The WR10 remote handheld unit is also sold sperately so I am wondering if I could leverage the WiFi from the FUSION without having to get the Simrad WiFi puck. Also, if I were to install the Simrad WiFi puck to the system I wonder if there would be interference with the existing FUSION system.

It is possible that the SIMRAD WiFi puck is configured to only work with the WR10 remote unit and vica versa, then the electrical signal hits the AC12 from the puck via the NMEA2000.

As previously stated by woodygo WR10 is using Bluetooth, not WiFi, for communications.

The standalone version is intended to be used with MFD's with built-in Bluetooth (HDS Gen3, GO XSE, Elite Ti and NSS Evo3).

The Navico Bluetooth access point will just work with Navico gear, currently only WR10 is supported.

The WR10 works great. Just did an install on a 36 Albin with a GO7XSE and an AC42. Works awesome using a tablet as a second station and the remote to drive the boat?

Thanks All, my mistake, meant to ask if the remote fob could work off of FUSION's "Bluetooth" not WiFi.

I am quite sure that you have to install the puck to use the wr10 remote. The good news is that it does not have to be out in the open. Mine is located in the electronics box and works like a charm.
