All:
Just added a new stereo and wired remote in the boat. Part of the wiring was adding a night mode wire (for the stereo, to dim the lights at night) and backlight for the wired remote into the Nav/Anchor light switch. All that is working as it should be and I thought I had everything back together, again. Come to find out that the Yamaha gauges ARE NOT coming to life when the ignition key is turned - unless (of course) the Nav lights are turned on... Before I try tearing everything back out - Anyone have any ideas on what I might have done wrong on the Nav/Anchor light switch?
Any help will certainly be appreciated.... Dave H.

Wanted to give you a shout out for helping me look at the problem from a different perspective. Come to find out that the Nav (Anchor) switch was working just right - to include the gauge dim function when navigating at night. Problem was the gauge main power wire (or ground..???) had come loose and needed to be corrected. (Now, if I could just figure out where... But rather have this problem then the one I had yesterday.)
Thanks, again. Dave H.
