Rigging a new boat and need to buy everything.

Simrad don't have any 10" screens, the only 8" version currently produced is NSE8 which don't support all the new technology. NSE is more intended for a semi-professional marked. You may be able to get hold of NSS8, but they are not produced anymore.

The new model range NSS Evo2, comes in 7, 9, 12 and 16" versions.

Ok
I am getting a tower so I will probably get a 12" and 9" down and a 9" up.
Thanks

Don't know the current rebates, but had some nice ones last winter / spring. Bought my 9 through BOE Marine. First time using them. Ended up with a cash rebate and New VHF from Simrad plus points at BOE towards a discount on another purchase.

Sounds like you're on the right track.

I have an NSS 8 I bought last year for sale. (And also sonic hub and tm150--but if you get evo2, you won't need sonic hub). It is listed in the Tht classifieds.

I haven't done the math but there may be more screen space on the 8.4- inch 4:3 display than the evo2's 16:9 9-inch display. It looks like there is. I like the 4:3 better than the 16:9 for most things.

Simrad rebates are usually in the spring if I recall correctly. I think they set the dates so that you have to purchase right before their iCast announcements.

I need to measure the boat console to see how much space I have.
I like one with chart plotter and the other for sounder. Also need auto pilot. I like the sonic hub so I can plug in an ipod.
I don't know what evo2 is. What is the best transducer these days. I need side scan also.

B175M is the best general purpose transducer, B175H-W is the best transducer for detecting fish in the water column at 300' and less.

Evo 2 is the 2nd gen version of the NSS series, I assume- Evo= evolution. NSS may be able to zoom in a bit closer for depth display due to it's screen height, but the Evo 2 should keep the tracking history displayed longer with it's screen width.

All Evo 2 models are side scan ready, just need the transducer. Also the new 3d side scan will display if you wanted to go to that big of an investment on the added 3d hardware package. Forward scan also available now. My understanding is that chirp and side scan wont operate at the same time on a single display, though. Unfortunately, still haven't used mine, boat is out of the water while I do a bit of "re-fitting" since I bought it. Still on the fence about either getting a B150 or stepping up to the B175 for the great lakes. Have an unknown plastic through hull now that came with the old Lowrance that was on it.

I am in St Pete so I never fish deeper than 150' deep.
I had NSS in the boat I just sold.
