Default Garmin 7610xsv. Sonar issues

I have two 7610xsv units and I have a single gt51m th. And a b175 hw. It's take around 5 to 8 mins every time I power up the units to see what transducers I have and start using them. Shouldn't it remember what transducers I have or is it normal to have to wait so long to use your sonar. Second no matter what I do the scroll speed is super slow, both traditional and side view. I was out fishing a wreck in 100' of water and had it set on the b175 chirp, was catching sea bass and never showed one mark on the screen. I have never had so much issue trying to get something to work. Was at the canyon catching yellow fin and never marked a single fish there either and it was only 400' deep.

There are several of us having an issue with the sonar it seems to be a common issue with the new xsv units. We've Notified garmin of the problem I'm hoping that the problem will be an easy fix once garmin finds a solution. The only reason why I purchased the garmin xsv unit was for the sonar and not for the other features. As of now it's just a waiting game to see when or if it's fixable. If I find out anything I'll be sure to post it.

Guess I was lucky... my 7608xsv has run perfectly from day one. I can see individual 10" grunts on a rubble pile in 50 ft of water.

my 7610xsv seems to be working fine, but I never seem to see anything on the sidescan or downscan. I never see any fish or any structure. it just always looks like a sandy bottom. shouldn't I atleast see pilons when im in my slip

Odd behavior for sure. I have a 7610xsv running only a B175HW. Mine boots and runs in a minute or two at most. Most of that time it seems to be reading my map card. Sonar works as soon as I go to the screen. Have you tried booting with only the B175 plugged in? Curious what would happen...

For what it is worth, here is a pic of my bilge setup with the B175C 0 deg mounted slap bang in the middle at the back, the other 2 are the SS264 20degs feeding into an FCV 295.

I don't think you can get a better position for the 175 than that - have not yet tested it in anger and will still be some time before I can but am eagerly watching and hoping...will share details once I do get to run it in deeper water and at speed.

I have both on a 7612 with a 175HW and GT51.It may take a minute switching between the two but not that amount of time.

Might want to check what mode and frequency you are on. I was just in West End and the screen would light up. The 175L is what I am not happy with,

I am having blinking issues, not all the time, but enough to be frustrating. I got the GT51's thru hull pair and was thinking to get an additional 175. Why are you not happy with it?

Also, another question since you got this set up. Does the unit know to goto the GT transducer when you goto down/side ve and vice versa or do you need to select in the setting each time you go from one to the other (assuming you want the 175 for traditional)?

I think the only time I had to switch was when I went to traditional, from the B175HW to the GT51 Med chirp. From 500 to 1200 ft the Med chirp out shined the 175L marking fish .Went for one day so I might need to play with the settings a bit. From 200 to 750 ft the side view and down view was not that impressive to me. ( could be the settings) but that is my first thoughts.

As far as blinking goes I was moving slow and it took a bit between changes to find the bottom. Once it started reading it would read at speed in 1000 feet.

I will be heading to the Bahamas shortly and will take a screen shots next time.
