Default Installing structurescan transducer question

I came across this in the instructions: "The StructureScan transducer should be installed within approximately 1 foot of the broadband sounder transducer to get optimum performance from the Downscan Overlay feature." I'm transom mounting the SS transducer and the B75M CHIRP will be 8-10ft forward. Does the B75M do the downscan overlay? Or do I need the little 83/200 transom mount transducer to get the overlay? Is the overlay something I will miss? 30' twin screw inboard sport fisherman nss12 and nss7. Thanks

HI Bob, most comments including my experience is overlay is not popular and very few use or like it. I doubt you would ever use it. Remember, The LSS transducer only needs to be submerged in the water when the boat is running between 4-8 mph for sidescan...downs scan works at a slightly higher speed. Important to keep turbulence in front and around the ducer at a minimum and a clear view from each side.
