Default Is a Garmin 3010 sounder any better than a Furuno 582l?

I just bought a 3010 garmin, mostly for the chartplotter feature. Question;, is the sounder portion of the Garmin any better (with same type transducer) than my Furuno? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the time and bother of installing another transducer.

I would bet the Furuno is better.

the garmin 3010 by itself does not have a sounder function. It needs a blackbox sounder system such as the GSD 22 in order to be used as a fish finder. Do you have a black box with it?

Oranges vs. apples.......3010 with black box is somewhat older technology. If you already have a transducer for the Furuno, I would look at upgrading the 582 to either 587 or maybe to a smaller screen (same processing power) FCV-627. The FCV-587 and FCV-627 have very bright screens compared to your older 582 (plus more features, better digital circuitry).

Thanks for the responses. I do have the GDS20 box. I'll probably stick with the 582, I'm used to it. I'd love to upgrade the Furuno, but it's not in the budget for a while.
