Question Spot Trace Setting - Which Is Best?

Hey there,

Just bought a Spot Trace and am curious for a boater which settings are best to balance the need for location updates with battery life.

All input is appreciated....

Thanks

The batts last 6 months and will send a lo batt alarm, you can set it to 10 minutes, it won't send every 10 minutes unless it detects movement, I have 2 of them and they are pretty good, i took a rubber suction mount to the base and stick it where I want.

It should be programmed for the "DOCK" mode with five minute tracking intervals. Also the lithium batteries that come in it last a long, long time and if you add the external power cord they act as backup.

Great,

Then why not just have it set at 5 min?

And what is the Movement Alert - 30 min or 12 hours?

And do you shut if off when you travel with the boat or just leave them on?

Greatly appreciate your help.

Set it on dock mode as I was getting kinds of false alarms from wind vibration. Keep it on while underway and check out your track when you get home. You can also have family track you while you are out. As for intervals I'll check and see what I am set at. Also check for active rebates they are as high as the 99 cost of the unit at times. Ohh and. I almost forgot, install the app on your smart phone.

Schmaltz~Herring,

You my friend are like the visceral epitome of the schweinshaxe on a Bavarian family dinner event.

In summary the very core of why people are gather in harmony.

How's that?

Does the Spot Trace need open sight to the sky to work, or can I mount it in my console or under my hard top?

The website says not to mount under metal, everything else is fair game but they suggest to test signal before fixing int.
