Through Hull Transducer affecting Trim?

Default Through Hull Transducer affecting Trim?

Any one experience a significant one sided trim effect after installing
a through hull transducer?

2015 Sea Hunt Gamefish 27 with twin Yam 250 XCA
Had installed Garmin package after taking delivery of boat from out of state.

Including a chirp through hull about 24" forward of the transom on the starboard
side of keel. Garmin unit sticks down about 3/4".

On plane it runs tipped to port side and requires about three bumps of the
starboard tab to level off. I thought is was normal sea/wind conditions but
found it to be present in neutral conditions.

Any input?

i would look at other causes first. a 27 with twins is heavy enough to not experience ride alteration from adding a skimmer. if it was a large fairing block set up cockeyed then possible yes. verify engines are trimmed equally. significant weight added to oneside (including water intrussion).

Boat sits level at rest and during low speed, only at plane Weird eh?

If your engines are turning the same RPM and you can hear they are in sync (not just tach display), and you are sure the props are identical mirror images, then I think its a possibility. My 28' CC is very sensitive to tabs when on plane, just a bump goes a long way, so I can easily see a 3/4" drag on the planning surface causing yaw.

Is there a way for the transducer to be installed flush with the bottom? My B260 was installed at the factory, glassed in flush with the bottom to avoid any drag. Can yours be installed in that fashion?

The installer went by and looked at the hull on a lift. He said the protrusion in only about a 1/4 inch. Seems less likely that is the issue. He suggested maybe one of the trims is out at zero position. I will check that next.
