You and me both. We talked about this extensively and couldn't get a solid answer from anyone. Looking at it I think the only way we could have done it differently would have been to install two 51s out of the pocket and further out towards the sides. Time will tell. Hopefully for the sake of not having to fix screw holes it will work just fine there.

I can't believe they used white sealant on a black hull!

That would drive me nuts.

Very nice. Had a chance to check out a similar setup this past week but with the thruhull Transducer on a 243. These new Garmins are sweet. Can't wait to upgrade the software on mine.
how did it perform with the transom mount transducer?
