Default Garmin Homeport - not loading Simrad GPS numbers in GPX format?

Weird - it won't import/load the numbers I have downloaded in GPX format from my Simrad. But my buddy who has a Garmin downloaded his numbers from his Garmin in GPX format for me and it loads them with no problem.

Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

Also what is weird is that I can upload the GPX file into Google Earth with no problems, but it won't load into Homeport.

Strange, for sure. I just converted approx. 30 Lowrance .usr files into .gpx, then into my Garmin units without any issues at all.

That apparently is the cure - for some reason Garmin changed the export function of GPX numbers and they don't interact properly with Homeport. So I have to export the numbers as USR and then use GPSBabel to convert to GPX, and then they work.

Strange.
