Default Pulling a new cable

I am trying to install my new fishfinder. I have removed the old fish finder and tied a string to the old wire. As I try to pull it backwards it is jamming up and I can not seem to pull the cable anymore. It is not stuck on the connector as that is still up where I can see it. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to pull this cable through? Or any other suggestions for pulling the new wire through? Thanks

Maybe tape the connection so it is cone shaped, then grease it so it slides?

pull from the other end....sometimes the reverse angle is better Do not use the old one to pull the new one. Start with a new fish wire and see if it goes through easier.. Sometimes cables get twisted among the others and it binds .

When removing the old cable that jams....try cutting the end at the ducer side..and pull from the head side.

Get a helper. Pull back and forth if it binds. Do yourself a favor too: pull an extra line. Say 80# fishing line ? For the inevitable next time you need to fish a new anything through there. Always pull an extra. You then always have one fished through!!!

X2. Sometimes you need to pull back a little bit before going forward again.
