Default Raymarine a57 help

Currently I have a A57 d by Raymarine and I'm thinking of upgrading, but dont want to if the A57d is capable. 98% of the time I fish 50'-250' in the salt, also fish offshore. It has a transom mounted P58 on it currently. is there a transducer upgrade for this unit? I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade to a whole new unit, but I'm thinking that I just haven't fully figured out how to use my Raymarine to its capacity. What depth is a57d capable of marking fish at?* What are the optimal settings for my type of fishing?

Ive seached online but havent found much on setting up the sonar yet.
Appreciate any advice.

That is quite possible. What settings are you using offshore and what are you looking for? Same question for your shallow water fishing. Experience and interpretation are significant parts of getting the most from any sonar. Start by using the manual settings for depth range and gain. Once those are dialed in, run your 50/200 in split screen to see which works best for what you're doing at any particular time. Of course, if you don't run over any fish, that's on you.
