Default Fusion-link to Simrad NSS over wifi?

I've been using my iPhone as a remote via Fusion-link on a Linksys router in the salon but looking for a more fixed remote. Fumbling with an iPhone when Marlin strikes is a real PITA. I don't have the ability at the moment to run a wired remote from the salon to the bridge so I'm womding if I connect a Gofree directly to the NSS12 can I join the Fusion AV700i to the Gofeee and use the NSS as the remote.

Would like to confirm before I start buying the required cables and hardware.

Why don't you just run a NMEA cable from the Fusion to the existing NMEA backbone. This will allow you to control the entire system via the Simrad MFD.

There is no backbone. I have a small NMEA network on the bridge for the Simrad Weather but that's it. Old boat and no wire chases going from bridge to salon. Eventually I will pull the headliner and run video and NMEA from top to bottom but not this season.

Now I was sitting here thinking... I purchased the boat with a JBL black box unit that had a remote ran up to the bridge, that cable is still in place. No idea if it has 5 wires or not but... Perhaps if it does I could use that as the backbone.
