Default DI or SI for Lake?

Still trying to upgrade my FF on one bass boat used in a shallower lake - about 75 feet max.

Narrowing it down between the Humminbird Helix 5 and the Garmin 53DV, I think!

For a shallow lake does SI make more sense over DI?

If you are looking for the console then SideVu is a pretty good option. However if you are looking strictly for the trolling motor then SideVu is not something I would bother with. You mentioned the 53dv. I've been testing one since December and really love this unit. So easy to use and tons of cool, usable features. Now if the weather would straighten up, I could go use it some more.

Correct...53dv down only.

With the new Garmin 73sv you get both down vision. side vision and 2 d sonar..all in one transducer .
So at 50' to 70' depths you will have excellent detail to the side.bottom and also fishing finding sonar.

Below is the 94sv but the 73 gives the same results.

Both. SI is very useful on the bow as well, as long as you can control scroll speed.
