Default I just bought 12 of these battery packs. Your thoughts?

As many of us probably do, I use a lot of AA batteries with all my electronic gadgets. I found a guy on Craigslist that has 700+ of these battery packs for sale. He says he got them out of recalled, unused medical devices. Each battery pack consists of (10) AA Energizer 2450 mAh rechargeable batteries that have been spot welded together. So I figured I would make him a $60 offer for 10 packs and asked him to ship them to me. He agreed and mailed them. I got them yesterday and he had included 2 extra packs in case any were bad.

I've taken apart a couple of the packs and separated the batteries in them. So far all have charged up completely and I've found no bad batteries. The problem is that all these batteries have been kind of glued together in these packs and the dried glue aint' coming off the battery wrappers after I pry them apart. What I have done so far is just taken the wrappers off the batteries and re-wrapped them in a layer of clear plastic packing tape. So far this seems to be working and I don't think the packing tape will let any of the batteries short circuit (hopefully)

Another issue I am having is the spot welds on the battery terminals. I pry the connector strips off carefully but it always leaves a couple small spots of weld on the terminals. What I have done with the first 20 is just to take my Dremel tool and sanded off the left over weld bits. Seems to work okay.

Anyways I was wondering if anyone knew a better way for me to get this dried glue off the batteries and not damage the original battery wrappers? All in all I think I did pretty good with this purchase because I essentially got 120 AA rechargeable batteries for $60 ($0.50 each). That's a lot cheaper than what I used to pay for rechargeable batteries at Walmart.

What are your thoughts on this if you have any?

look fine.you could wrap them in electrical tape as well if you needed to. But you did well for sure!
