Default Must have GoPro accesories

Just got a GoPro for boating/fishing/diving. What are some must have accessories to go with? I have the Hero4 Silver and have extra batteries, charger, and memory cards. Now I need the cool stuff :-)

How about some beautiful women with questionable morals to go along with it......

Default mounts

First I would say to get the orange floaty backdoor. It's saved my gopro more times than I care to say. Its also very cheap. Jus stick it on the back door and forget about it.

Next, my number one recommended mount would the the Clamp mount. I use that mount more than anything else. I clamp it on any of the bars on my boat, clamp it on my car, I even clamp it on my weedeater. its super strong and I even use it on my gaff sometimes (even though the bar mount would probably be better for that.) It is easy to move around but strong enough to not come off unexpectedly.

Next I think you should get the bar/pole mount if you want to do underwater gaff or pole mount shots.

Also make sure you get a very large sd card. I would say a minimum of 32 gb. I use the 64gb and its nice to never really have to worry about running out of room on the card.

Also, get an extra battery. The batteries go quick especially if you are using the wifi mode. I have a charger keep I keep on the boat. If I'm using the camera a lot I'll charge it probably twice a day.

Here are some photos of the mounts. The clamp is on the left. you can use or remove the flexible part. I use it.

The bar mount is on the right.

Thank you theatomicpickle, very helpful. I have 2 64GB cards, 2 extra batteries, and a dual wall/car charger. I expect the three mounts you mentioned and the floaty door will be next!

Suction cup mount. Super strong and you can put it anywhere.

I use the skeleton case alot. I mount the gopgo under my t-top and run in looping mode all the time while fishing. The skeleton door lets me plug in the power cord so i dont have to replace batteries every couple hours.

I want to try the sportsman mount. Might make a good view mounted on the rod.

Floaty back door and some line for leashes. A leash has saved my camera numerous times.

Don't waste your money on the viewer. Its a battery hog that you will likely not use.

a tether - make your own from stainless steel wire. all mounts will eventually fail.

I like the idea of the sportsman mount. I'll have to get one of those, it looks like a quicker version of the bar mount.

The new Hero. Alot of camera for the money. You loose some features so make sure you don't need one of those features. If you need a fully featured camera get the 3+.

Depends alot how you plan to use it. Do you plan to mount it in an touch to reach place and need to control remotely? Will you use it for handheld shots or on a stick/gaff? Are you going to want the ability to replace batteries?

For me i want one camera to have looping mode and wifi. This camera gets setup at the beginning of the day and is usually out of reach (atleast easy reach). I control this camera with either my phone or remote.

Another camera is handheld and the new Hero would be great for that.

I was going to say the same thing. I got a Pelican 1200 for my two GoPros, several clamps and mounts, extra batteries, and water proof SD card holder (Keeps my sounder SD Cards handy as well). Stores everything I need nicely.

I also bough a package of 6 extra stick on slide in clamp mounts. I have them strategically place on the boat for strategic views.

I've gotten a lot of gopro stuff on Amazon. You can buy a pile of stuff for cheap. I like the head strap mount I got from one of their sellers. It was decent quality and a fraction of the name brand.

I like the Floaty Door but I have the 4 Silver which has the screen on the back. The Floaty Door would cover that up. I did by a floating wrist strap.
