Default Is this normal for 50khz in shallow water?

I am trying to trouble shoot my Raymarine E120 with B260 which will not lock on in 50khz. Ray says CP300 is fine. I borrowed a known working P66 and hung it over the side. Boat was at the dock in about 6' of water.
Video shows bottom on 200khz, then I switch to 50khz and bottom reading roughly doubles and jumps around, then when I switch back to 200khz goes back to normal, with varying times until it goes back to normal.
Ray said this was normal reading and behavior for a transducer in 50 kHz in very shallow water, what say you?

P66 good transducer

B260 suspect bad 50khz(there is a offset so that s why it reads shallower)

Yep, I would bet they are right. 200kHz for shallow and 50 kHz for deep.

Not sure but I dont think your sounder is broadband. I do know that I never had much luck with lowrance units at 50K in shallow water until the broadband (HDS) stuff came out.

50 will not work well in shallow water. I've read that cp300 isn't that great though either.
