Default Using Ipad/Andorid and power

Well I got the new Raymaine Radar Chart plotter (not installed yet) and I was thinking maybe since it had the capability to also use an ipad as a second display. Has folks done that and how does it work?
Also what are you using to power them? The batteries only last so long and I found with my android phone the chargers get corroded very quickly in the salt air. Are their Marine grades of these chargers or ones you would recommend? I was thinking maybe putting a usb hub under the fly bridge as a power source so could change out cables as they fail easily. But looks like military grade USB bubs are like $300 lol

Don't know about connectivity, but I power my phone using USB port on front of Sony am/Fm. When the navionics is on, eats power quickly
