Networking 2 Hds gen2 units?
Currently have a HDS 5 gen2 with structure scan..want to replace with gen2 HDS and move HDS to front of boat...unclear of hookup looking at directions....know I need power cable...what other..can I just run cable to structure scan ethernet...or something else?

You need a "NMEA2000 starter kit". But ethernet is what will allow you to share sonar, maps (Gen 2 and Gen 3) as well ass waypoints, so start with that. 
NMEA2000 would be to enable controll of a Motorguide Xi5 or sharing a GPS-antenna.

Have a look at page 36 of the manual linked above. This gives you the basic layout of how you'd network 2 HDS units together. Hope this helps.
