Default mounting 2 transducers 12" apart?

I have a Lowrance and a Humminbird both are gps/combos. I want to mount the transducers about 12" apart. I know I won't be able to run both fishfinders at the same time unless I use different frequencies. Plan is to run one as the chartplotter and the other for fishing.
Both have down imaging one has side imaging.

The one with side imaging should be mounted lower than the other ducer.

I have dual transducers with my Garmin 740 and 546 sounders, mounted about 48" apart. I have to disconnect one or the other transducer to keep them from interfering with each other. There is no other way I've found to turn off the sounder to stop the interference.
