Default Furuno FCV-582

Does anybody still use these things? There is one on the boat that I bought back in June and I cant seem to figure out if it is worth learning how to use and keep or just trash it and go with the newer technology? Second thing is I don't have any idea if the thru-hull that is on the boat will operate with the newer systems.

Yes, many still use that unit...it came out around 1998.
An analog sonar and may take a bit of tweaking depending on your conditions.

As to the transducer...if it is 12 to 15 years old it may be time to upgrade it anyway.
