Default Garmin 740s flush mount

Hello,

I just purchased a used 740s. This unit did not come with any flush mount hardware. Other than 4 screws, should I purchase a gasket kit as well? I only see these for sale at West Marine so I wasn't sure if a gasket kit was actually needed to flush mount the unit or if I just drill the hole, put in the unit and then silicone around the unit. Thoughts?

The flush kit gasket is part number 010-11481-00.

But you can just cut your own gasket...some people have even used foam style weather stripping or silicone etc...and others have used RTV gasket material.

I used clear silicone. Worked great.

Silicone should be fine. In lieu of the screws, I thru-bolted mine to reduce the chance of an easy theft.
