Default Best camera for a Simrad/Lowrance network?

I'm looking for a small video camera to tie into my head unit/network - any recommendations?

I've got a Simrad NSS8 w/ the video adapter cable. What is a good simple video camera to use for on-board monitoring, and does the camera get power from the cable?

Or, would it be easier/better to set-up a Go-Free wireless, and connect a camera via wifi? Didn't Navico sell a video cam? I don't see one on their site now.

Thanks

Your NSS don't support IP camera. Any camera with composite video output should do, I've used older GoPro cameras wired to my NSS.

For permanent installations Iris Innovations and Raymarine have a large number of good alternatives. At eBay I'm sure you will finder cheaper alternatives.

If I should come with one recommendation, have a look at IRIS060

I agree with abbor, I was at IBEX yesterday and talked with the technicians that build/design their product. They build the cameras for Garmin(iris model 065) & Lowrance (iris model 035). Either model will work for either unit brand. The 35 has a wider view angle, he said it would produce a range approx. 20' rearward, the 065 had a narrower viewing angle so it can see much further back, it's the one I was most interested in since I want one to watch the Trolling spread. Btw they make a bracket that will allow you to mount to a T - top rail as well. The 65 had a TV of 700 vs. 540 for the 35.

That's good info - thanks. I need max field of view and minimum size, so the IS35 is probably the ticket. They are not shy about them at $400 though, but probably worth it over the long haul. Makes the camera I mounted on my license plate, and the 4" screen on my dash for 50 bucks total seem crazy cheap.
