Default Data Extraction? - Garmin 3006C

Anyone familar with this unit? Is there an easy way to get all of my points out?

Unfortunaltey the unit is starting to experience issues with the screen getting fuzy and going out for random periods of time. Everytime I use it, it gets worse / blacks out for longer duration. Hoping I can retrieve the data before it blacks out for good.

Thanks

Download to a blank Garmin data card (NOT the SD style). Then you have to have a card reader for that style data card to transfer to a data program such as Mapsource or Homeport. Send me the data card and I'll extract/print the way points for you, in exchange for the card ...

Is that data stored on the card that is in the slot on the unit? I can't remember anymore how the unit actually works, if that is just a chart map or what...I'm referring port that opens up on the bottom left hand side of the unit. There is one card there.

since your 3006 doesn't have built in charts, the card in your unit is probably a chart card. Buy another card, less than 512mb, on ebay (Garmin Data Card) and use that to transfer the data. There is an option to save user data to the card. That includes waypoints, routes and tracks. You really only need a few kbytes to save the data, so a 8, 16, 32, 64 mb card would work fine. But I think 512mb is the limit recognizable for those plotters.

Pull out your current card and buy one that looks like it. DO NOT buy an SD or micro SD card. They will not work.
