Default Rockford Fosgate Marine Products?

Does anyone have any experience with the Rockford Fosgate line of Marine audio equipment? I know that JL and Wetsounds are the 800lb gorillas on the block, but I just don't know if I want to spend that kind of coin on speakers. I am not that into music and don't hear that great already so I was wondering why spend the extra money on it? If anyone has any experience good or bad with these, please let me know. FYI I am looking at 4 of the 6.5's, 2 of the 10" woofers, and an amp to push it. Thoughts please.

Thanks
Ryan

I have 4 of the 8" speakers. They look great in stainless and white and are still going strong after 3 years.

Also note, the speakers are exposed 24/7 - 365 to the elements and people are still amazed that I don't have a sub and how well they sound.

This is good to hear. I wonder if the 600x5 amp will be enough to push 4 6.5s and 2 10s?

I have thier 8" tower speakers and they sound pretty good for the $$$.
Wetsounds were 4X as much.

I also have 2 of thier amps, and ZERO issues and work perfect.

I think for the $$$, they are a good value. NOT the best quality out there. but certainly not the worst.

it would push the 6.5s and one 10 but may not have the juice for 2 10s

Hello. Worth noting that Sea Ray now fit Rockford Fosgate on their new models. They seem to sound great to me. So far in two years of service we have not had to replace anything, no speakers, head units or remotes. Hope this helps.

I've got a set of 12" RF subs on my boat, flawless after 3 years. Also installed one in my outdoor kitchen, again, flawless.

I've used them for years in my automobiles and boats, great product. I started using them out of convenience, the audio shop closest to my house carried that brand, but now I don't have any good reason not use RF.

Thanks for all the replies. Now to determine which is the best bang for the buck. Which alternative do you think would be a better sounding system for the money:

Option 1:
4 - 6.5"
1 - 10"
1 - 600x5 Amp

Option 2:
2 - 6.5"
2 - 8"
1 - 600x4 Amp

Thoughts please.

I have this exact speaker set up! My amp is a JL 5 channel, M5700 I think. It sounds great.

Hi, I suggest 4 of the 8" if you have the room. put them with the amp and a fusion head unit ....nice to be able to control the zones. you have a great system in the works.

I believe Groman has them on his boat. There are pics of them installed but no one seems to notice the speakers......

I got their M750 amp and M212 Sub. It is truely amazing and can thump you out of the boat if you crank it up. Great clear bass with excellent punch. Very happy with it.
Mounted the sub in a box and strapped to forward bunk so it is down fireing/suspended above the bunk so it would be as far away from my Electronic Rate Compass and has been no issue.

1x 5 channel amp

This is my setup and it rocks!

Jstarion - Where do you have your sub mounted? Do you wish you had another sub or do the 8s provide enough bass to balance the system out? I like option 3...
