Default How to determine the model of transducer

Hi all,

I have a TMxxx transducer installed on my boat - its either TM260 or TM270W (e.g. as far as I know they have the same physical dimensions). Is there any way to determine which one is that? I can't seem to find any markings on the transducer itself, apart from the word "Airmar".

Any help will be very appreciated.

Thanks

Is there a little tag on it up near the plug?

Not that I can find... the other end of the cable is plugged into a transducer selector switch, so I can't see any tag there...

The TM258, TM260 and the TM270W will all have the same basic physical dimensions.

This is the typical tag to look for near the connector end of the cable...unfortunately many times they get torn off.

Yes, this is the problem (tag torn off). Is there anything I can do else - like on the sounder side - to determine?

Thank

Just a thought....many of those transducers are Mix and Match, meaning there is a short pigtail that comes off the transducer and a longer cable attached to it. The connection is most likely near/in the bilge. There might be a tag there.

What kind of sounder do you have? Sometimes in the Echo settings you can get the Transducer info but it just depends on the unit you have. Did you say you have a switch? Is that Airmar's switch or a different brand?

Thanks, I'll check the bilge side (maybe there is an extension cable or something).

The sounder (which is on its way) is Lowrance HDS Gen2 Touch. The switch (iused to select either internal P79 or transom TMxxx) I think is the Lowrance one (the round knob).
