Default Solar storms and GPS

I have a NorthStar 952 on my boat.
Yesterday while off shore I moved my cursor
to a waypoint I had and set it to go there but the
course over ground showing on the GPS was WAY off my
compass bering! I went to the waypoint according to my compass
because I could see other boats where I knew it was.
When I looked at my GPS screen the boat icon was moving
sideways toward the waypoint! Has anyone else had anything like that
happen?

They say there's lots of solar activity going on now that can
screw up electronics, I was wondering if it had anything to do with it?

we use this sight to track anomalies with our DGPS system. there was a solar storm a few days ago that we were just getting the effects of yesterday and into today. the radiation affects the time signals from the GNSS satellites and causes position errors and jumping.
