Simrad NSS7 EVO2 - You'll be a tad over the $1k mark BUT, you will have the latest and greatest available. Touch screen and rotary knob input and the list goes on. GREAT units.

The HDS-7 Gen 2 Insight is comfortably less than $700 now. Includes a 50/200 Transom Transducer.
