Default Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 or HB 899ci ?!? Help

I cant decide which unit I want, the HB 899 or the Low HDS 7 Gen 2. I can get the Low with both transducers (and having to mount 2 transducers doesn't bother me) for about the same price as the HB. What are your guys opinions? Which one performs better?

Alot unit has to do with personal preference, the best way to decide what you want to use would be to go to a dealer who has both on display and give them a shot and see which ones you like more. The pictures on both are pretty comparable, but it is just which features and pictures you prefer over the other.

Humminbird units are pretty straight forward and easy to learn, whereas Lowrance units tend to have a bit of a learning curve. The nice thing is that you have the power of the internet at your disposal and there is almost no end of information if you run across a problem or aren't sure about something on the web.

Two things that stick out more from the Lowrance than the Humminbird though are that if you want to add CHIRP later on with Lowrance you can with the Sonarhub. Humminbird units cannot yet as they haven't announced a module that supports CHIRP yet (Except for Onix and Ion units).

The 5 Year advantage is also nice if something happens after your 2 year warranty is up and your unit is damaged, you will get the option to upgrade to a newer unit for price.

I love the Lowrance HD7 touch! I feel like Lowrance has that model down pat. You can't go wrong with the HDS7 either way but I prefer the touch.

It is easy to figure out and never fails. I have dozens of customers who have them and no complaints!
