Default Interference issue w/ Lowrance Elite 5HDI and Icom M304

Has anyone had any issues with interference from the Lowrance Elite 5HDI and an Icom M304?

I just finished the install on my brother in law's boat and we're getting high noise level on several channels. Channel 16 and 70 for sure, but there may be more.

The boat is an Aquasports 175 and the radio and the Elite are mounted on the top of the console.
The antenna is a Shakespere 4400 (36" SS whip), mounted to the side of the console next to the radio.

I know these are very close together, but there was little choice. Not a lot of places to mount things on the little boat.

I will try some snap on ferrites on the Elite cables, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how (or if) it was resolved.

Did you do nmea0183 connection based on RS-232 or 422 mode?

That could be the reason why, try to use Yellow (+) and shield in stead of Yellow+Blue
