Default AP24 questions.

I've had some issues AP issues that I just resolved by doing an "autopilot" reset. During all this I re-did my compass calibration too. About a week ago the compass calibration resulted in 8% field with an angle of -17deg. Now today after the re-set it calibrated to 8% +154 deg.
It is working well now but I am left with some questions in my mind.
1. I chose autopilot re-set, what will the Global re-set do? will it re-set my NSE, 4G, BSM-2, engine interfaces and so on, or just the network devices that are part of the auto pilot?
2. wondering why my compass field angle is roughly 180 deg. different, Boat was exactly the same both times. Or did the re-set erase some stored error? My original compass calibration from 2 years ago when I installed it, was similar to the result from a week ago but todays which is 180deg different after the re-set..
